Resilience Building

Resilence Building with Weights | Morehampton Clinic | GP Donnybrook

Did you know that all of us begin to lose muscle mass and bone density from as early as our thirties? Many people believe this is an inevitable and irreversible part of life. In fact, this can be delayed and reversed, at any age, with simple resistance exercises and healthy dietary protein.

Dr John Travers has led key clinical research to help people of all ages to build resilience and reverse frailty. At Morehampton Clinic, he provides a Resilience Building programme.

The resistance exercises and dietary protein guidance provided in our Resilience Building programme have been designed and tested for older adults. They have been shown to help people build strength, increase bone density and feel healthier and biologically younger. They can help people remain independent and improve quality of life.

Doing exercises three to four times weekly that include weight bearing and consuming varied sources of protein in your diet (1.2 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight every day, e.g. 84g for a 70kg adult) can make a big difference.

It's never too late to start building your strength! Contact us today if you would like more information on our Resilience Building programme with Dr Travers and we can book you in for an initial medical assessment.
